The advantage of all ceramic restoration is permeability of the light without metal and opaque.  It produces unique brightness, which is different from the light produces by metal ceramics.  In general, there have been many complaints that the color of temporary restorations was better than the final restorations made with metal ceramics: however; this complaints decreased on the final restorations made with all ceramics.  We are now able to clear the problem with all ceramic restorations without using the special technique with the metal ceramics.  For that, all ceramic restorations brought the brilliant light in cosmetic dentistry.

However, new problem has been reported in addition to the advantage of all ceramics restorations, which is, the shade of all ceramics restorations affected by that of abutment teeth, and even if the shade problem was cleared, especially on large unit cases, the shade of the final restorations appear too simple, often not to differ from the temporary restorations.  This is due to the selection of too transparent coping from trying to cover the light problem learned from metal ceramics.  If you can reproduce the color with metal ceramics, it might be easier for you to start with translucent coping: instead; start with not so translucent coping to work on how to make it translucent.

This hands-on course will give you a chance to reconsider the current common sense of all ceramic restorations.
